SQA are somewhat intractable in that way. Did you not have to provide copies of the certs for your nursing course?
If there is no other solution, then suggest you call the uni and explain the situation. But make sure you don't speak to the office monkey - it sounds like you've been dealing with them so far.
Talk to the person who is listed as being in charge of the course - go to the uni and knock on their door to speak with them direct if necessary. Uni is about lateral thinking, so think how to get around the problem - losing your exam certs is not that serious!
Good luck with the interview.

Ring Sqa again and ask them to fax them to you. If you don't have a fax, ask if they could email them to you and also post them to you. At least this way you'll have something to show the University at your interview and you can tell them that the exam certificate has been sent out to you and that you should receive it in 6 weeks. Best wishes and Good luck, hope the interview goes well.

Ask for your certificates to be sent to you and go and explain the situation. People can often be very understanding. In any case it's obvious you will need your certificates in the future. Don't forget there are not many who would take on nursing as a vocation, its very demanding and requires a lot of patience.
Good luck.

Ask for a letter confirming that your certificate is being processed and how long they think it will take to reach you.
Then go to the interview place with the letter and ask them if that will be enough for the interview, explaining in detail the full situation.
And sorry to lecture you, but you'll need far more inciative and forthought if you are going to embark in nursing....

To be honest, I can't see why you were asked for them. Passing the access course is what will get you into university. It is why you are doing it! The admissions tutor should know that.
Contact the admissions tutor and explain you are an access student if they don't already know. Your admission onto the course will depend on you passing access as well as possible.
Good luck.

my suggestion would be call them back about the cert and ask if they will send it via courier at your cost and then you will know that you are going to get it in time if not contact a courier company in your area and find out if they will do a pick up for you .........in the event that your cert has to be signed for they are in a position to do so and you can track its progress.
