Yes ! But, like most most good suspense/horror/thriilers it did a good job giving you a what if by the hand coming out of the rubble where the house used to stand.

I haven't seen the remake, but in the original she dies.
And the finish with the dream sequence showing her hand popping out of the grave is one of the best "jump" scenes in movies.
As an FYI NOTE: I just read an article about director Brian DePalma and some of the movies he made. He said that in Carrie, the hand coming from the grave actually DID belong to Sissy Spacek. He said she wanted to do that scene herself.

Yes, she dies, but her friend Sue Snell has a nightmare that her arm comes out of the ground and grabs her, but she definitely dies, she kills everyone in her scholl, then kills her mother, then she makes her house collapse on her.

in the original yes, she does die. On the remake made for TV one she does not.

in the book she died after she died from hemroage (bleeding to death) and in the book she dies when stones crash into house and i think the house catch's on fire too its been awhile since i've seen Carrie

Yeah, she collapses her house with her and her psycho mother inside.
