Take off the front, lower panel. It comes off real easy. Shouldn't even need a screw driver. Look down at the pilot and see if it's lit. If it's not, of course, light it.
But if it is, look around it and you should see this copper looking thing that should be being heated by the flame of the pilot. That is the thermometer sensor. Your heater won't come on until that sensor is hot enough. Sometime the sensor slips out of place and isn't being touched by the pilot flame enough to make your heater go on. If not, carefully (as not to get burned), just push it more into the flame of the pilot.
A simple procedure, and many times that is all that is wrong. No need to get a repairman to charge you a $150 to do that. So try that first.
In case you don't how to light a pilot: Turn the knob to off. Wait about five minutes. Then turn it to pilot...... then push down on the knob and hold it down. Light the pilot as you continue to push down on the knob. Hold it for about a minute or so. Let go and the pilot should stay lit. If not, repeat the procedure and hold it down while it is lit longer.
Once you have the pilot lit, turn the knob to on. Then locate the thermostat in your house and turn it on and you should have heat.
Good Luck!

If the furnace is clicking, that means that it is trying to light. Not a failed hot surface ignite! Assuming that you have gas to the unit, the most likely problem is the gas valve not opening on pilot, need to check the voltage at the gas valve for 24 volts on pilot, if there is voltage, change the gas valve, if there is no voltage, change the ignition control module

If it's electric you may need to reset the breaker. Turn breaker off and then on again
