Yes, having been stabbed & having been hurt by things that were said, I'd say that words definitely have the potential to hurt more than some stab wounds. There's no truth to the saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me". People want to be loved & to find out that you aren't loved by one you love can be the most painful hurt there is.

in different ways. stabs can kill, true. but words you may have to suffer the pain for years. stabs often might come in heat of anger or from strangers. words sadly usually come from cold wanting to hurt and from those close. having had both i choose neither
