He may be getting enough nourishment throughout the day from the solids and nursing from you. He may not feel like drinking from the bottle is worth it. It's not as snuggly as nursing and if he's not hungry then for him what's the point? As far as weening goes, as long as he's still willing to nurse you'll probably be able to provide especially if you continue to pump some while you're at work. As far as the bottle milk that he's refusing, was it frozen? Often times babies don't like the taste of frozen milk. As long as he's still nursing some, he's still getting the benefits.

I'd try giving it in sippy cups, straw cups, or even regular cups. He may not like nursing a bottle and only wants to nurse mommy. I've heard of nursing strikes where the baby won't nurse but will take a bottle, I think you're going through the opposite problem! Don't worry, a 10 month old is not trying to wean himself. Keep nursing and don't sweat it. He's eating solids so he's not starving when you're seperated.
Another idea is to add breastmilk to solids, if he likes mushy foods.
And have you thought about donating your excess frozen breastmilk to a milkbank or privately to a baby in need?

My breastfed daughter would NEVER take the bottle, but she took breastmilk from the sippy cup...he is probably ready to transition to a cup. What I did was pulled the stopper out of the sippy so it would just pour - I poured the milk in her mouth (that way she learned that milk came out of it) - it was messy, but I only had to do it once or twice and she got the message. Then I put the stopper back in and she sucked from it like a champ (she would never take from a bottle). Good luck!

I think that the best thing for you to do is to follow his lead. He may be ready to go to the next thing like formula. I know that my son wanted the breast milk but i wasn't producing enough for him so I mixed it with formula. That way he got both the breast milk and the nutrients from the formula. Maybe its the bottle that he doesn't want anymore give the sippy cup a try. The most important thing is that he continues on getting the nutrients one way or another. By the way i think that its great that you put your all into breastfeeding most of the mothers that i have talked to didn't even try, good for you.

You can give him a cup; there a sippy cups that are great. You can always do cup during the day and a bottle at night. Also remember that he is probably getting all of his nutrients with table food. Next wellbaby check as your pediatrician for any ideas. Also, in about 2 months you can introduce cow milk.
Concerning the sitters...YOU have the say in your children; whatever you say goes or fire them!!!

My daughter did the comparable situation. We spent greater than a number of money on each and every bottle which you may imagine comparable with each and every pacifier, and she or he did no longer take every person of them. All she needed replaced into boob. So, we finally gave up and had no on my own time for 2 months. finally she began sucking her thumb, and that i replaced into like ok a minimum of she will kinda self sooth, and then my mom suggested pull her thumb out and stick the %. in and occasional and behold it replaced right into a miracle. I called all of us I knew asserting my daughter finally took a %.! it replaced into the main suitable 2nd ever!! %. bring about taking the bottle and now she's on the two. She did this around 4 months. So, some infants bypass on the instant to the sippy cup, some come around to the bottle and %. ultimately. I took the bottle and %. strike as i choose mommy and basically mommy this is precisely what I gave her. have faith me, basically persist along with her cues and settle for that she won't take a bottle it relatively is going to likely be much less stressful on you and your daughter. ultimately she will. include this "i choose mommy" 2nd, because of the fact it is going via actually quickly and you will finally end up lacking it! maximum suitable of success!!

I agree with trying a cup, don't dump that breastmilk, he might like it later and I know how hard it is to pump!

Maybe you should try switching bottle nipples. Avent makes bottle nipples for different ages.
