Then you tell them how to spell it and they still spell it wrong after you have already told them. you could have such a simple name.

I'm with you. I hate it. Names are a very personal thing. I work in a call center and I am always asking people to spell thier names even something as simple as Smith. Then I repeat it back to them to make sure I have it right. My oldest son's name is Antony. Not AntHony.....I can't tell you the number of times I had to call the school and correct them when he was younger. My younger sons name is Scott. Not Scot......(this is a person FROM Scotland)...again...numerous calls to the school.

ya well I'm from Russia and people spell my name wrong all the time!! epically my last name!! and i get upset because i tell people how to spell my name but they still spell it wrong!! well unless u have a long name than maybe it will be still hard to spell!! but i have only 4 letters in my name and people cant spell it and cant say it!!! =( but i use to it!!! SO just tell those people how to spell it and scream at those people!!

you are right i also hate it when people get my name wrong especially after teaching them how to spell but i guess cant do any thing about it people call me witchlove instead of richlove

Yes.

One of my friends spelt 'Daniel' wrong for three years. I mean, its not a rare or unusual name and every time I corrected her, she'd spell it wrong again! So I gave up in the end.

I actually think its a little rude.

Nope, I've gotten used to it. And since there are way too many companies on the internet trying to steal/sell personal information, I just figure if they can't get my name right, they don't have information about me to sell.

I hate it when they call me "Amanda" instead of Mandy, which is the name on my birth certificate!
