You might be interested to know that, though many religions that claim to believe in the Bible teach belief in an immortal soul, the Bible itself explains that human bodies ARE souls. Our physical bodies combined with what the Bible terms that "spark" of life, or life force or energy together make up the human soul. It explains that animals and humans are all souls. We all have the same eventuality, to return to the dust when we die. The prospect of living again is in the hands of the one who created us in the first place. If he decides we are worthy to be "re-created" when his purpose for the earth is again realized, then so be it. Otherwise, even the Bible agrees with you, when we die, we become fertilizer. If there is no afterlife, how will you explain it to people who have spoken to their passed loved ones? How do you explain a (real) psychic or a medium, who knows the most intimate details of my life?
Even plants have a "soul" of sorts. They are affected by our own energies. When my husband was living with me, none of my plants wanted to survive. Now, that he's my ex, I have more greenery that I could imagine....without me changing a thing about how I take care of them.

empirical evidence tells us that our bodies die and cease to exist in that form...if you were to ask me if that body was me, then i would have to answer---no!...i can not speak with any certainty about creation or reason for existence, but i can tell you that i am a thinking, feeling being, and that my consciousness does not allow me to see the death of my body as the end of my existence...as for the after-life that i know i will be a part of, i could not tell you for sure if it is one that will be up for Judgement or reincarnation...but at the very least, i know that if i am wrong then i have lost nothing and nothing really matters anyway, or if i am right, then i will see you on the other side...

it is for sure that our bodies will disappear after death. regarding the spirital afterlife, nobody knows the answer with 100% certainty. when our time comes, then we will know the answer, before that try to be a good person during prelife.

You're right, there's not one scintella of evidence to prove there's an afterlife. To think other wise is fanciful thinking. While it would be nice to see our long dead relatives or to believe we'll live a life of eternal bliss, without proof, its just fanciful thinking.
The thought of an afterlife cushions humans from the harsh reality of our utter death and annihilation.

are you an impetuous youth or an angered aged? the glories of man can be stinging and sear or sweet and serene. still inside each of us is a voice that tells us what to do right or wrong and we know it is right or wrong, but choose from that conscience. What do you think that voice is? It's God...the voice of god that dwells inside each of us. Did you think it was schizophrenia? Well, maybe in your case, as for me, no...it's my soul a gift from God himself.

seems like you would be more interested in where you were in the pre-life since you are probably closer to that realm than the next one or are you actually even alive right now
