let's ask a Kurd what they think. On March 16, 1988, the Kurdish town of Halabja was attacked with a mix of mustard gas and nerve agents, killing 5,000 civilians, and maiming, disfiguring, or seriously debilitating 10,000 more. (see Halabja poison gas attack) [14]. The attack occurred in conjunction with the 1988 al-Anfal campaign designed to reassert central control of the mostly Kurdish population of areas of northern Iraq and defeat the Kurdish peshmerga rebel forces. The United States now maintains that Saddam ordered the attack to terrorize the Kurdish population in northern Iraq ([15]), but Saddam's regime claimed at the time that Iran was responsible for the attack[9] and the US supported the claim until the early 1990s.

No! he should not be put to death. I think that he should be locked up in a cell, like we used to keep animals in, with a glass/transparent viewing area in Iraq. he should be shown videos of his victims and explained to him why these things where wrong, he should also be shown videos of Iraq today the parts that have been stabilised by the UN and the work of the Iraq people.let him see the ordinary people who just want to live in there own country with a democratic government. if he has any allegiance left to Iraq he may like to help to stabilise the rest of the people too.

magnificent question!! i individually desire the dying penalty for assorted murderers, toddler killers and tyrants like Saddam. regardless of if, if the dying penalty weren't an determination in his case, a outstanding punishment could have been to maintain him in a cage interior the midst of Baghdad, Iraq, with basically sufficient nutrition and water to proceed to exist. Then the persons he terrorized and tortured ought to do what they needed with him; a great form of issues.

Yes he should and you need to hear what he has done by the people of Iraq that have suffered under his rule,he was brutal and that Is what the men from our country that serve In the armed forces say as they return for a second duty and the missionaries and to the people themselves that live In fear ,no terror.

We In the Usa complain about our country but dont realize what freedom we have as compared to Iraq and others

I say yes, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. If he does get the death penalty he should be made to suffer like his victims did.

I love the answers in here!! haha! If you believe in the death penalty or it is an option there is no doubt he is the best candidate. He killed, tortured and raped many people. So the only different between him and Bush is the rape and I think that was more Saddam's kids doing.

YES. Along with Bush and Blair.

Why they should be spare for taking the lives of millions of innocent civilians and kids? What immunity they have got against carpet bombing and naked invasion? Wasn't Sadam being actively supported by USA whilst he was causing all this havoc? Are we all hypocrites or a bunch of blind a****les who forgot the speeches made by Rumsfield in UNO??? Lying with the whole world?

It makes me sick to my stomach when i see this double standard!!!
