Tell her that you both be on your best behaviour and perhaps even suggest that you two mate will prepare supper and/or breakfast for her. Be honest with whatever promises you make to your mother and perhaps she will allow this to happen more often. Good luck and I hope you are able to get your way and have your friend spend the night at your house.

Well parents are usually smart and know when a kid wants something! LOL. They usually start being real nice and doing things.
First of all, you did a good thing by mopping. Maybe you can do something else for her. Why don't you ask her, mom what can I do for you?
You can also try asking your mom "what can I do for you so that my friend can stay over night" maybe she'll give you an answer. My answer to my kid might be "you can clean your room, and then if your friend comes over, stay in your room and play and stay out of my way". Make promises to do that.
Lastly, she may just decide no. And you'll have to accept that and don't be mad. Maybe she'll let you next time?
Good luck!

As a mom, I'm very open to bribery. The mopped floor was a good start. Volunteer one more chore or ask your mate if he/she wil go in on a bribery chore to get her to say yes. Have several options ready. Good luck (if I were your mom, I'd say 'yes'!).

You could find a mate that you are going to marry and I believe this will make your mom happy

ask her when she will know...if she gets upset w/ you back off and let her feel guilty...then approach her later as she has felt guilty and is now in a better mood and ask if yer friend can spend the night...I love manipulating parents :) muahahaha...

"I don't know" is better than a definite no. Just keep being sweet and then ask her for a definitive answer. It's most likely she'll say yes.

Do nothing - very difficult to do but if you don't pressure her then likelyhood is she will be less stressed, less angry, less reactive and will let your pal stay over. Good luck

Just pray and don't bug her too much. Just tell her you promise something in exchange.
