I think it was really great when Ben Affleck was talking to a newborn baby in Jersey Girl, and he told her about her mother and about how he wants to be a good dad. It was really emotional.

Hollywood in the 80s did a great job by casting Harry Dean Stanton as the Dad in 'Pretty in Pink' and he has several good chats with his daughter. However, this film is notable for the conversation between Harry & Duckman, the latter being a would-be suitor of Harrys daughter. They have a great chat about Duckies planned proposal of marriage. This happens in the garden.

mine is from "Father of the Bride" also, but it is the scene when Annie is at her reception and Steve Martin thinks she is gone and he missed dancing wuth her and she is still there waiting for him and they dance to "The way you look tonight"
