It is appropriate to propose if you are certain you love her and if she loves you and know that she wouldn't be so embarassed as to say no.
Some people don't like this kind of thing to be made public.
However, wanting to marry another is more than simply a matter of LIKING them. Have you met this person in real life--there are gestures, little nuances of a person that cannot be conveyed in words, those are pertinent. Those can make a person beautiful beyond explanation and they can also make another ugly.
How many times have you met this person?
Is this love, or is this infatuation?
It's really too vague for me to judge given the relative lack of detail you have here.

Seriously though, what do you really know about this person?What do you have in common with her apart from the fact that you both support the same team and admire the same player?
The Internet is a strange place, yes you can meet some wonderful people but how do you know they are not deceiving you?
How can you ever trust someone you have never met in real life?
If you really feel that you are in love with her, I suggest you meet with her in person and really get to know her personality before you propose to her.

Well now it all makes sense !!! lol. Jay R, I would say you need to really know a person other than whom they appear to be here to propose marriage. Have you seen her, have you talked other than shared words on the forum, do you know her likes and dislikes, her faults as well as her positive traits, will she be embarrassed, does she feel the same ? It's up to you of course but I would be realistic and consider these things. If not it's like a blind date and they rarely are successful. But I wish the best for you...Good Luck !!!

Well, no, I wouldn't .. but that's just me! People are not what they seem.. just remember that. I mean. u sure its a woman even? Ppl use this forum, we all know each other by the minimal interactionswe have here... some use this to escape from their own personalities... You nuts if you do. People are not what they appear to be. You have to get to know them and their idiosycracies in real life like being stubborn, jealous, ignorant, flirts etc.. Or whatever other undesirable traits they may have.

ummmm no... i wouldn't suggest getting married unless you met her.. didn't you hear abt the Californian dude and the Brasilian chic? they met online and he went to Brasil to get married and she hired a hitman to kill him. AND she stole $200,000 from his bank account. so think twice before dating some1 online...
