I have been experiencing occasional spells of painful bowel movements...it only really seems to hurt as it is leaving (I guess at the point of the anus?) not internally. I do not have any cuts or scratches or reasons for abbraisions or anything.

There is a little bit of blood when I wipe, but not in the stool itself, and only when I am experiencing the painful BM's.

It seems to last a few days and then does away.

I have never had children or any sort of trauma in that reigon.

Does this sound like Hemorrhoids or should I be concerned that it is something else?

Sweet Gal...sounds about right...come to think about it, the few times I have had them have been right before my period...which is also when I tend to eat worse, and drink more alcohol...which of course dehydrates me....

Yah...I'll go the Dr...but it is more of a (mind the pun) pain in the a** time wise than fear of the exam...I am 25 and have dealt with several ovarian cysts, dysmennorhia, unpleasant boils, dyslpasia...I feel like every doc in the world has had a look!!! LOL.

Registered Nurse Here; Sounds like a hemorrhoid but several things can mimic a hemorrhoid. First of all with a hemorrhoid that close to your rectal area, one usually has a small amount of bleeding, or a larger amount. A hemorrhoid is a varicose vein, just like the ones some women have in there legs. Hemorrhoid around the anus, usually gives one significant pain. Also another possibility is a POLP, these are usually benign, but you should go in and see a Physician, I know you would prefer not to. In all honesty, I truly believe it would be in your best interest with regards to your health to go and get it checked out. Plus if left untreated, a hemorrhoid can and often do become infected. Thanks for the opportunity to respond to your well written and worthwhile question.

Depends how old are you??

It is most probably Hemorrhoids. They happen when a person is experiencing lots of constipation and hard bowel movement. Blood vessels in the anus bloat and hang low outside. Not really dangerous but its good to see a doctor.

I had them too like a month ago and I was freaked out. So first I called the local Medical Helpline. This is what they said:

- DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!!

- Do not scrub when cleaning just dab and clean. Also good to use toilet paper soaked in warm water.

- Dont use any perfume in the area

- Dont eat spicy or chocolate... eat lots of fruits and vegetables

- Go see a doctor soon... just in case.. u can request a female doctor because they have to see the area

The doctor gave me some cream to put and now its basically gone.

Good Luck!

You can often relieve the mild pain, swelling and inflammation of hemorrhoids with home treatments. Often these are the only treatments needed https://tr.im/W5vi5

With these treatments, hemorrhoid symptoms often go away within a week. See your doctor if you don't get relief in a week, or sooner if you have severe pain or bleeding.

You should have a doctor check you out. But if you can see small black lumps around the opening of the anus, that would quite possibly be external hemorrhoids, which can be treated with topical creams containing hydrocortisone and a local anaesthetic. HTH : )

Yes I could be a hemorrhoid. You need to avoid constipation and go to the doctor as soon as possible.

sounds like hemmorrhoids to me...

You need to insert one hemm. supp everyday when you know you are going to be closer to your period. so that when you do have a BM it won't hurt or get inflammed.

it gets worse when you get older specially when you are pregnant..you might want to go see a dr about it..there are ways to get rid of it. I have the same problem...it only gets inflammed just before my period and make sure you eat a lot of fiber with you meats...meat can make it worse..drink a lot of water...
