my friend told me the other day that wearing a thong is bad for you.i didnt belive her at first but then another friend told me the same thing....but iv worn thongs for a year or two now and they havn't harmed me.

Depends on the application. Normal use and wear - no problem from what I hear. Now, say you're trying to run out the door while trying to get them on - now that could be bad for you. Ouch.
Or, another example. If you mistook the thong for an eye-patch at a pirate party during the new year, some people might laugh at you and not appreciate your creativity - and I guess that could be bad for you too.
Otherwise - much preferred from the tall dark & handsome side...

Tell your friends to get a life and a clue. How can wearing a thong possibly be bad for you? There's nothing down there to injure. Thongs keep you from having visible panty lines. Would rather have 4 butts?

Not if you practice good hygiene. Some people think that thongs provide a more direct route leading to urinary tract infections. Just keep everything clean and you should be fine.
