I am taking a course in diversity and we talk about things like this all the time. If you think that racism is dead in America then you are wrong. People are always being treated unfairly here and if you can't see it then I suggest that you open your eyes. (There is two girls who make CD's exalting Nazi's, they call themselves Prussian Blue. There are ignorant people who still belong to the KKK, cops seem to be able to do what they want to whoever--usually minorities and get away with it.) I am not part of the problem. If we talk about it and learn about each others culture then people will understand and perhaps learn to respect each other. Maybe if this were to happen things like the above wouldn't exist.

What a lot of people said is absolutely correct. Racism isn't just a white thing. It is just noticed more because Caucasians are a part of the dominant culture. People from other cultures can harbour equal amounts of animosity against those from other races, cultures or religions. Just look at the present violence in Iraq between the Sunni's and the Shi'ite's. It has been happening ever since humans noticed that there were other communities living near them and is caused by the fear of the unknown. I really believe that racism in North America is becoming less prevalent and that it is just a small minority of people that can't seem to be able to accept others as they are.

People are so rude and just cant except the fact that GOD made US ALL EQUALLY!!! And if they can't except that then they are not respecting that. I sometimes wonder do White people still dislike African Americans as much as they used to. I think EVERYONE IS EQUAL, no matter how stupid or how ignorant or how rich they are, WE ARE ALL CREATED EQUAL and so people will just have to learn to respect that and I believe the world is still in that process of learning how to respect that!!!! And if they have a problem with a person, race, or sex then I think that person should try to help those people! Like if you see a little ignorant boy on the street, I say help him so he can see life too and so that the world wont go how it should'nt. We cant always avoid this situation and everyone knows this!!

What they do not teach you in that diversity course is that those examples you give do NOT represent the actions or thoughts of most Americans. In fact, they are the actions of only a TINY minority.
It is an unfortunate fact of life that there are some people in the US who will always be racists, no matter how hard we try to put sense into their heads. Best to let them just die off and have hope that their children will be different.
In my job, I travel all over the world. There are some places that have FAR more racists than America, and are doing absolutely nothing to change.

Have you ever read up on the Nation of Islam? It's a hate group, but many are afraid of saying so.
Racism isn't limited to Whites. By the way, why do some Black people or hispanic people or Asian people dislike groups of other races?
Also, I have found that when non-Whites want to make a racist comment regarding another non-White group, they'll act like the expect me to automatically agree with them. Because I'm White. What's up with that?
All races have equal protection under the law, but you can never make every member of every race be nice.

Racism really isn't the issue....it is classism.
The African-American guy just said..."Kill Whitey". And you say that white people are racist?
Most of the racist people that I have come across are of "minority" races. Although, I am aware that there are white people that are ignorant.
Stupidity and ignorance are color blind.

White people do it in American, black people do it in Northern parts of Africa, and Japanese people do it in Japan. Bigotry usually is more from majorities.
