I went to get to mail earlier today and noticed a huge* behive hanging off a branch on our tree in the front yard.. Now I know hitting it isn't the best way to get rid of it, seeing as there are bees swarming inside.

So how do I get rid of this behive safely?

I would call the city on Monday or look in the phone book for some official city number that is on call. Like the animal control and let them know about it. Do not whack it or throw anything at it.

Are you sure it's bees and not hornets? Smoke will dispurse the bees, capture the queen bee ( she will be much larger that the rest) and move her to where you want the bees to be. Be sure to net your head and neck, wear long sleeves with tight cuffs, long pants with bottom of legs tied...best to just look up Bee Keepers in the phone directory and call one to come get them. Usually honey bees don't make hanging nests, they go for hollowed out trees or such. They will hang in large groups ( no nest ) when on the move ( looking for a place to have a hive). They send a scout or scouts ahead and hang on limbs waiting for the scouts to return.

You are not able to relatively eliminate it. But i could begin with discovering a brand new pastime. And quit writing such a lot at the pc. Do physical games along with your peers. Set a target for your self to just keep at the pc for 2 hours then reduce each month. It would prevent a couple of greenbacks at the electrical invoice!!! ;). Basically discover anything else to do, if you happen to are not able to seem at what films are approaching, what parties that sound kinda cool. Be in the market alternatively of within right here.

call a professional if the hive doesnt leave after a week unless its in an area that you dont have to go near or any of your pets. But always let a professional get rid of a hive. I have never heard of anyone sucessfully getting rid of a hive without hurting themselves.

you'll have to trust me here....I was told to do this and i was very skeptical, but it worked. here goes. wait until very early in the morning ( i did it at 6am.) put a bag over the hive and pinch it off. there will be a few around the hole in the bottom, but they will be asleep. drop it in the bag and tie it up. All hive dwellers return to there own hive at night.

If you live where is snows, wait until it freezes and there is no activity, then remove it.
