The Congressmen you have shown are the of the old conservative Republican agenda. That agenda was for small government and support small business. In the late 70's and early 80's, just after the Nixon administration, the Republican party reinvented its domestic strategy. They decided that they would run on the platform that government should be there only to protect its citizens. They pushed for less government intervention into our everyday lives. This was the exact opposite of the Nixon administration that believed that America should flex its military and politcal might on everyone inside and outside of the country. The current administration has taken up this moniker once again and Republicans who remeber the Nixon era are afraid that it is going to lead to what happened to the Congress and the White House in 1976.

well since the majority of these individuals have not been in office for quite some time, i would say they are not in touch with the Republican party nor have they been for quite some time. maybe it is because they were RINOS. Democrats i disguised as Republicans to get the benefit of Republican funds or votes. Their district may have been republican leaning and could only get elected if they were republican, that's been done. Kind of like John McCain. so i wouldn't take stock in this commentary.

Because the current batch of Republicans aren't acting like Republicans and deserve to be punished because of it. They've had six years to downsize government, yet they've actually grown it.
