It's called a meteor.
Technically speaking the sky cannot toss anything.
But we could say that when meteorites enter our atmosphere they are tossed, because tossing takes a beginning force (exploding star) as apposed to falling which is a pulling force (gravity).

The sky can't because it doesn't exist--but the wind can toss rocks and many other things....it can pick them up from one place and "deposit" them in another, sometimes very far away.
There have been instances of fish and frogs falling from the sky as a result of being picked up by wind and being dropped elsewhere.

a very string wind, ie a tornado, can move a rock into the sky.
making it look like te sky is tossing rocks

meteorites can fall from the sky, but they are not "Tossed" from the sky, they fall from space through our sky to hit earth or not.
