All beliefs are based in someway on emotion, or you would never have an opinion! Why would you even bother to form an opinion on something you didn't have a stake in, whether global or local!
The question is, are your emotions that you used to form an opinion actually facts!
I go outside the country to get my news for the most part, but I still can think and reason! If you wanted to murder someone emotionally, and I have, and that was your opinion, how are you going to justify murder? How ate you going to act on it when you know it is wrong?
I don't know a lot, not because I don't want to know, but I am not like many here! I don't pick my "Facts" based purely on emotion, though I have some real strong ones about Bush and the war! Many of them are based on PERSONAL experience, FACTS which I could explain to you until I was blue in the face! And you know what, it wouldn't even register.
Many here glorify war! That's only because they have never been in one! Even those in Iraq are not up against an army like the NVA! We would lose in 15 minutes what it took a month to take out 100 people last month in Iraq!! The Iraq Army were a bunch of P--sy's! They were runner's! we knew that after Kuwaitt! Now they are the New Police!
The biggest issue I have with everyone, including myself: I don't know the truth! I doubt if ANYONE knows the truth! I don't have all the 9/11 papers or reports that have "beened cleaned up for public release"! I didn't put a Top Secret stamp on things that are NOT top Secret at all! They are evidence hiding! Can the FBI release all the tapes fro the Pentagon? Yes! Will they? No! Wouldn't you like to see them? I would! Why wouldn't they? To me that means they are hiding something! We can watch the planes hit the trades every 2 minutes if you wanted to because they can't hide them! The Pentagon is entirely diiferent and so is flight 93!
I would like the 8,000 pages that Bush had redacted from the WMD report to the UN by Hans Blix! I am not going to dismiss him as an idiot because of my views. He is an Expert that knows more about WMD's, especially in Iraq, than probably anyone in this country, I don't care which side you are on, and quite frankly, neither does he. He is not an American! But to dismiss what he says just tells me you don't care about the truth!
Selective hearing has always been an issue! And it will always be one!
There is not one person on here that knows the truth! Not one! Even Bush! If they did their first name would have to be Jesus! And I haven't had a conversation with him yet! Ask me then! And I hope it isn't anytime soon! In the meantime I will look for the truth using my brain, and some of my emotion! I can't hide the fact that we all have them, and to come face to-face with the truth, is quite a sobering experience!
It really isn't hard to Google and come up with anything your heart desires, but is it the truth! I doubt it!
You call the GOP stable! Now there is one fact Idispute! I will tell you a stable fact, your president is a substance abuser and a alcoholic! Those are the facts! And if that is your idea of stable, iI would hate to see the rest of your facts!

That's a good question. My opinion is no. I believe that political beliefs should be based on the best interests of everyone and not the people who you relate to or only benefit from.

It would depend on what kind of emotion. For example, if it was like my son got sent to war and I'm mad about it, I wouldn't let that kind of emotion come in my way. But if alot of people have the same emotion as you, and you think that something the person is doing is not right, then I would let emotion come in my way.

I think people will always be passionate about politics. It goes to their core of being. I think abortion is murder . I think the government should not run my life. I think i already pay too much in taxes. I don't care if us drilling for oil makes a bird move its nesting area. I don't think we should handicap our industries with too many environmental regulations. Our competitors are ignoring them and producing goods far less expensive.I think Illegal is Illegal. I think law abiding citizens should be allowed to own guns.I believe people who are capable of murder are a threat to society and should be executed. I am emotional in my beliefs. I would rather people be emotional as opposed to not caring.

Of course. We are ruled by our emotions. We feel very passionate about our beliefs. We love and hate to extremes. We are adamant about our convictions. Everything we do, every choice we make is influenced by our emotions. Should we let our emotions control us? No. Should we let our emotions guide us? Definitely.

Emotion is part of human nature. The things we like or dislike, fear or cherish -- these are all emotional responses.
You can't eliminate human emotion from the political decision making process. The best you can hope for is to temper emotion with logic and reason, so that visceral emotional reactions are not the sole criterion for making decisions.
Sadly, that requires more cognitive effort than most people seem willing to make.

If by emotion, do you mean a gut feeling? If so, I do. My instincts are rarely wrong when it comes to this sort of thing. Problem is that in the past I have ignored my "little voice" to my regret. I think it's a viable part in the process, yes.

No it is not a good idea. One should be of sufficient character to realize that what they feel is best is not always best and accept that some people believe differently from them. I feel certain things are wrong and are against my religion, but I do not let that influence my political decisions.

No, wish we could take emotion completely out of decisions unfortunately we can't. We begin to imagine ourselves in a political event trapped and what do we do now? So we try to puzzle our way to the most comfortable end.

well yes how your life is, is emotional. who will make my life better in the long run is a big part of my political belief system. I really don't believe bringing the war back to American soil will make my life better.
