Turn off your computer, and before anything comes up, at the black screen, hit the F5 button and you will find a place where you can restore your computer. Then log on to Microsoft and get all the updates. You can add automatic updates to your computer. They are very reliable and have good free programs. I downloaded Explorer 7 and really like it. Microsoft will also email you when there are new programs to download. I use the Windows Defender to check for spyware. Got it from Microsoft downloads for free.
Good luck.
I am not quite sure what you mean but your Internet Explorer should be the first one to work. It will pull up your AOL connection. You have used a program that you probably don't have. AOL is very competitive.

If your Internet Explorer is not working, I would suggest downloading and installing it directly from Microsoft. However, before doing so, I would highly recommend using a utility to scan your computer for problems and junk. For this, try CCleaner (www.ccleaner.com). Once you've run it and fixed any errors and removed any junk, grab the official Internet Explorer 7 download from Microsoft here:

Get rid of it and use Firefox, still much better and more secure than IE (even IE7)
