Killing other people is wrong. Government should set an example in this matter. Abortion is also worth of cautious judgment, but how to add to peoples`s responsibility? Remember that making mistakes, even the gravest ones, is only human but forgiving is divine.

Just. As it meeting the requirements of justice. Many people will have many different answers to that question.
I have no personal opinion in the abstract -- it all depends on the individual and the situation. But the bottom line is that almost every culture since the birth of civilation has recognized the death penalty as valid for some crimes. So, by historical consensus, the death penalty is just -- at least in some situations.
In response to the first poster, the courts and the juries are charged by law with passing judgment over criminals. That's why they do. Without neutral courts, and without neutral people making factual determinations in trials, you cannot have any justice.

A punishment should fit a crime. You kill someone without cause, you should receive adequate punsihment.
I understand that sometimes the justice system is inadequate and people are convicted wrongly. However, to my knowledge, there is yet to be a better system. I with the marines, "Kill 'em all! Let God sort 'em out!"

If the murdered persons family are allowed to give the poison injections personally, yes it is. I do not feel other than the confinement, the state or feds have the right to murder, it should be more personal, eye for an eye.

If it's OK to kill an unborn baby who has never done anything wrong why is it wrong to punish a murderer? One who is capable of these crimes should not live. And why should tax payers pay for their life of luxury in prison?

Yea...the death penalty is a good thing. Actually I think the number of crimes that the death penalty can be applied to should be expanded. Drunk driving that results in the death of another individual comes to mind.
