Does your guardian have to watch it with you or can they just buy your tickets for you?

It's pretty much up to the theater. Some will allow that, some require that the adult sees it with the kid and some don't even enforce the R rating at all. When I was a teen in the 80's our local theater only required a note or phone call from the parent.

Technically, they're supposed to watch it with you.

And it has to be a guardian. Having your 17-year-old friend buy your ticket is a no-no.

It all depends on what cinema you attend, some cinemas will let the guardian buy the tickets and will not have to escort them, than there are other cinemas that make the guardian attend.

okay....if you look 17 or older they will normally just give you the ticket, unless you live somewhere like me and after a certain time a minor can't be out. Normally they don't card you if you look the age.

I believe that if you are under 17, you must be accompanied by an adult.
