I am not talking about REM. I am talking about "dreaming" about your future. Do you have time and the innocence for that? Are your dreams more vivid or attainable?

Your dreams change with your age. The child dreams of a pony, a shiny bicycle, being a fireman, or a policeman, getting a pet, As they age the dreams change, they dream of being wealthy, attractive, getting a terrific mate, being recognized in the career of their choice, have a child. owning a home.

When you are older your attainable dreams are to remain healthy and be self sufficient, have enough money to take you and your family through any illness, and each person makes the final grasp such as going to college, taking trips. There are those who just hope their mate is with them for a long time. You come to a reality that you are nearer the end then the beginning. Most people come to that acceptance. Some remain in denial.

For me, it's been a long journey to be able to determine the difference between "venting", "symbolistic" and "prophetic" dreaming and as I have aged this process has become clearer. There seems to be an understanding that you are not alone and that this ability to dream lucidly is a tool to help you clear and balance and be. I've discovered that one can be "all grown up" and with a "child's heart" can discover all of the answers one seeks to know through their dreams. Journaling helps tremendously! Keep a notepad and pen/pencil next to your bed and when you wake-up write it all down; periodically, re-read what you have written and see where you have been and "dream" where you will go. Blessings to you.

I guess the only way dreams change are based on your life issues and the current maturity level.

If you mean dreams are wishes, yes, they have to change as time goes by. Young kids may have dream of being policemen or doctors. by then they grow up, they will realize that may not be their dreams

Sometimes, dreams have to be practical, it goes by situation.
