I have an old NES that works great. I recently received a game that does not save my data. I push & hold in 'reset' as I turn the power off like instructed, but anytime beyond 3 minuets & all data is gone. Is there a way to replace an internal cartridge battery?

yes, there is a way. you can buy the security bit that unscrews the screws that hold the game together on sites like ebay.

when you open the game, you'll see a circuit board with a rather large Cr_02 battery - or something ( i really dont' remember the type of battery, it's been months since i opened and cleaned my games)

you can find replacement batteries in stores, because the batteries are used for many other things. or you could find other games - but those games are likely too old, and their batteries dead too.

then get someone that is able to solder the battery back onto the game board. - it really needs to be soldered back on, so that it doesn't just fall off. you can't use glue, that will prevent the contact, i think, and you can't use tape either.

bottom line? if you don't have someone who knows how to use a blow torch, you shouldn't be doing this.
