To get rid of your toolbar problem - click tools on explorer then go to manage add ons click enable or disable add ons - disable toolbars that you don't want.

Then go to bit defender free scan & removal on line.

Ad-ware & spybot are very poor & limited to what they find & remove.

Hope this helps ya.

I am frustrated because I was ripped off my Paretologic when I purchased their XoftspySe V. 4.22 The program was found all kind of false/positives. They refused to refund my money an I removed the program. Was using Windows 2000 Server NT Technology.

Have since installed Windows XP Prof., When I download their latest version from http://www.paretologic.com The key will not work. I emailed them two week ago and they refuse to respond.

The prior key for version 4.22 required my name and my registration key. New new version takes a four sets of #'s with a "-" in between them and no name. The new version finds a spyware called "filespy". I tried every known antispyware to remove this file and not finds or can remove.

I see it in my registry and I removed on a manual basis, but this failed, because it keep returning every time I open IE7. PC Tools, Spyware doctor finds the file, but will not remove unless you purchase. Likewise they ripped me off, because when I purchased their spyware doctor I had Windows 2000 Server and their support assured me their program would support a server. This was bad info. Will not support a sever. Supports Windows XP Prof. They will not refund my money or give me the software for free being it was their error.

You can only run one antivirus program or you will have serious conflict with your system. You can run three four or even five antispyware program and not have any conflict.

Here are two program that I use. (They will not remove "filespy". Still excellent programs that are free. An I am sure they will remove this adware from your pc.

http://www.ewido.net This program was out of Germany and was purchased by "AVG:", out of Germany Now it is called AVG Antispyware. Scans all 195,000 objects in my system.

The program will become free if you don't purchase in thirty days during the evaluation period. They will just remove the background scanner and the auto updates. You will have to update on a manual basis.

http://www.emsisoft.com This program is out of Austria. Another excellent program that I use in my system. Scans all 195,000 objects in my system. Plus has rootkit protection and rogue dialer protection. Download thier free verions A-2Squared free version. They will ask you for your email address so they can send you a free key. When you receive the free key install an it is good for life. Their server will verify the key before you can continue with the installation.

Ad-aware was around long before any body ever thought of antispyware progams. For some unknown reason they are going down hill. Noe of Mcafee products are any good.

I am confused about one thing in your question. Do you use the latest XoftSPYSE that requires the four sets of keys or you use xoftspyse 4.22 . (Because 4.22 was designed when this company was considered rogue). With their new version they have come along way from being a rouge company.

Likewise I am on broadband.

If I can be of any further help you can email me under my user name: minddoctor.

Always reboot after spyware or a virus has been found.

personally i'd get rid of xoftspy and all the rest.
i use spybot search and destroy 1.4 http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/
that find 99.9% of ad related objects.
as antivirus I use Avast Personal http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
both are free to download and use (avast needs email registration) and have free updates.
as the minddoctor said is never good to run more than one spyware together as the will find item stored in the "safe" of the other program.

defend thyself!!!!
