We have a Dorking toilet and every few flushes the water filling up the tank makes a spraying sound when it initally begins to fill also it tends to run , nothing obvious is jumping out-any suggestions.

Take the lid off the tank and observe what is happening. Once you see what the problem is, then you can fix it. Good Luck.

sounds like you have a bad Toilet fill-valve.
You can get one at any hardware store.

it may simply be the chain is too loose, etc.
open lid and observe a flush or two
you may need to change all the insides... this is easy and cheap to do yourself (especially if I could do so myself)

Tell this to someone at the Hardware Store. They should be able to direct you to what you need.

its suposed to spray water...to refill your tank
