What do you think about that? Would you ask your doctor to go in and make your child more athletic or more intelligent? Do you think it's okay for them to go in and fix any possible illnesses?

Wow that is a tough question. Would I want my doc to make my child smarter or stronger? No. I would be happy with my child no matter what. On the other hand if my child had something that made him/her terminally ill and they could fix it with genetic alteration I would probably do it but not if the illness was autism or retardation because those diseases won't kill my child.

I think it is wrong, plain and simple to have your unborn childs DNA altered. As far as something that could be fixed in the womb like a heart issue or so on than I think that is ok but nothing else.

I think it is only okay for the doctor to go in and fix any disease that the unborn child has. Genetically altering the personality and skills the child has isn't right. Then they wouldn't be their own person. He/She will only be what you want them to be.

Hell no. Your child should be born the way God wanted them to be. Each child has something special to offer no matter what they may be like. Anyone can acheive athleticism and intelligence with hard work. As for fixing illnesses, that is just selfishness on the part of the parents to want to change their children. Everyone has to go through something. Life and being born should be left up to the higher power, GOD.

Hmmm, I wouldn't let them mess with the personality of the child, or the athleticness or intelligence. That's the joy of having your own child - letting them be who they are. As far as illnesses - I guess it all depends on the illness and the severity of it.

I dont think everyones bein fully honest here. Of course people would want to make their child more intelligent and athletic. But I wouldnt want 2 do it till its been tested and proven safe.
