i am in the process of building my own gokart rite now. i really want to know how fast it may go....just an estimate. i have an 8 hp. the Clutch on it is an 8 tooth sprocket and the main sprocket ihave is a 31 tooth sprocket. the gokart is a good size for me. the tires are 13 inch rims but prly about 20 inches in diameter with the tires on it. can u plz take a guess at how fast it will go?

8hp would be a pretty good size. Should be enough to get you up to 20 MPH (35km/h)...

Sounds like more of a sand/dune buggy! You might want to invest in more, than a friction clutch!
