They're saying no because they have more important things to do like getting the country back on the right track. But, they're going to also look at implementing some of the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission and it wouldn't be surprising that they find more than just a couple of lies from Bush and Co. That, plus some vetoes of Democratic legislation will make things very contentious and then you might see some impeachment talk and perhaps a bill introduced - but not right away.

He deserves to be impeached! However, the Democrats got spoiled after being in power for 40yrs....now that they've been out of power they have gotten SMARTER!

The smart thing to do - is they will investigate Bush, but only censure him. Because having Bush still in the whitehouse, the truth exposed from investigations, and a censure...will help a Democrat win in 2008!

If they impeached Bush, they'd have to impeach Cheney too - then Pelosi would be Prez in 2008- and that wouldn't help...

Censure Bush 2007-2008
Hillary/Obama 2008 - Maybe Al Gore could be Secretary of Defense - he did serve on these committees: Armed Services & Regional Defense, or maybe he could be head of the EPA - or maybe Hillary will create an cabinet level Envirmental position that Gore could head.

Anyway if the electronic machines don't steal votes Dems should take both houses...however I predict the Republicans will cheat again. But, they aren't stupid - they won't cheat enough to keep both houses - with Dems ahead in the polls so much. So, instead they'll cheat just enough to let the dems have the House - but just barely, & the GOP will hold the senate. :(

Damn, if only we could stop the machines....IF the big IF the dems take both houses of Congress first order should be to make sure the votes will be counted by 2008!

Nancy Pelosi was on Sixty Minutes last Sunday and said that the Democrats will not go for impeachment if the Dems get the majority they need in the House and Senate. Instead they will address issues this do-nothing Congress has ignored the past year.

Probably not, despite the fact that Bush admitted to violating several federal laws, and many of those violations have been confirmed by the US Supreme Court.

The problem is, we've become a country where breaking the law can be excused -- the ends justify the means, even if the means are criminal.

I have to laugh at all the people who try to argue that Bush hasn't broken any laws, without ever bothering to actually read the laws in question, or look at the Supreme Court cases which confirmed Bush broke the laws. But that's just people choosing to be blind because they are afraid of the truth.

The problem with politicians is that they are often more concerned with public opinion than following the laws. So, sadly, this is likely going to be another situation where someone in power gets to break the laws at will, and get away with it without even being tried for their actions.

Power corrupts, and absolute power is a get-out-of-jail free card.

No. The democrats will provide for a nice "dog and pony" show, similar to what the Republicans did to Bill Clinton. But actual impeachment proceedings will not occur. There will be strong talk on both sides of censure and impeachment, but Bush will escape by extending any proceedings past the 2008 elections.

No, according to the Minority Speaker of the House, Pelosi, they will not be seeking his impeachment. They aren't going to waste their time tying up the Congress with impeachment. By the time the process completes the man will be about to leave office. There will be investigations, but their main objectives will be addressing Iraq and Homeland Security. I think it's smart to let it go as well and attend to Iraq immediately, though I do believe he is impeachable.

Impeachment , I don't think it matters If the Democrats win the election. To be impeached he need to be charge with a crime, and at this point of the game he will not, he will be remember as the worst President in the history of the United Stated of America. (This is my opinion, I am not blue or red, I am purple)

With the rhetoric I have read in this forum, it has shown me that the Republican right wing machine truly does own a mind control device. Every time I read one of their clones arguments, I am reminded of the following statement:

"Thank goodness for leaders, that men do not think"! These were the words of Adolf Hitler . . .

Shame on all of you. . .

As for impeachment, it is unlikely, though he probably does deserve it. If it comes out he did lie to get us to war, then we as a country will fall further from grace. Perhaps if it does get out, it will be covered up by all sides. It is one thing for the world to suspect, another for the world to know. Just imagine the ramifications. We will never be trusted again, anywhere in the world.

I do not believe any party would be able to keep hold on the little standing we now have if that occurs. Let's just hope that we can "at the very least" bring this nation back to the point where we were considered a beacon of hope for the world, instead of the imperialist war mongering machine motivated by greed and fueled by inciting hate through prejudice. We have and had the ability to go after the terrorist through criminal avenues, but instead chose to get us into a war for profit. It's time to start THINKING!

VOTE!. . .VOTE!. . .VOTE!. . .VOTE!. . .VOTE!. . .VOTE!. . .VOTE!. . .

Thanks. . .

Yes. First, the Democratic House will create several investigations. After gaining as much information as possible, they will go after him. The charges will likely stick. Inside of 15 months he will be removed from office. That would be the early spring of 2008.

Probably not, unless there is a video of him raping and killing a 2 year old American girl. Such is his privileged life. Actually there would be thousands of dead 2 year old girls if Iraqis "counted" and there was video. Aside from that, there are about 15+ sound Constitutional reasons why it SHOULD happen. Down with Dicator Dumbya.
