Here's an idea MOVE! Guy Fawkes and the gun powder plot is a historical event get used to it. I do agree that some people take it too far but you cannot change history no matter how hard you would love to. Sorry but its like the excess of Christmas and the chocolate consumption of Easter. I personally prefer Halloween and new year but all to their own.
All these do-gooders that whinge about the fireworks bugger off!! I also have pets but I spend time with them and calm them. Instead of trying to ban fireworks look after your pets. Man, it irritates me we have to live in a Nanny state because someone doesn't like something or someone.

I know what you mean, I have 2 rescue greyhounds that I have had from September last year, and June this year and they are both terrified, and have been for a month, or more since they began selling those fireworks.
I agree also that it will continue to go on for at least another month. I just wish they pass a bill to stop selling bangers. I have nothing against a bonfire and a few quiet fireworks, on the night of the 5th, but draw the line there. It's a pity that there is an element who love to disrupt people's lives, especially the elderly.

What a great waste of time and money which could be more enjoyed being donated to a good charity. I also live in London and this morning the streets are littered with spent rockets of various sizes. What goes up must come down and I do wonder how many vehicles or people are damaged by a firework returning to earth. It would also be interesting to know the number of personal people injuries this weekend caused by fireworks.

I presume you mean you live in the centre of London.
I have noticed this year that the fireworks in my part of the world have been much much reduced, in fact, its only been the last couple of days that I have heard any go off. However I take your point, they will probably go on until Christmas!
Might be worthwhile investing in a big box of ear plugs!

I agree that loud fireworks are horrid when it comes to animals. My two lab mixes respond by barking and carrying on, then running to the back of the house to seek peace.
