We used to go to both sides of the family for holidays but it just was too stressful and now we take turns with the holidays- switching which family we see every year. Like Christmas my parents, Thanksgiving his, that way it is also easier on the kids to enjoy the holiday and there relatives.

We have always spent Christmas day with my folks(who live in the same town as us) and depending when my husband has a day off we go to his folks(who live 120 miles away from us) on Christmas eve or the weekend before or after Christmas.
