4x512 can have lower latency but I would go with 2x 1GB so you have expansion space later. The difference is barely noticeable.

Well 2x1 gb ddr2 800 mhz is better cuz u will have more empty slots left on your motherboard for future upgrades.. on the other hand i have seen dat ram chips gat oftenly defectiverunless from good vendor.. in that case 512 x 4 wil b better cuz u will still have 1.5 gb left after one bcomes defective got it.. but i think you are a carefuluser.. go for 2x1 gb ddr2..

depends.... if you want to use them in dual channel mode, then 2x1G. i saw a test on tomshardware, when a computer with 512 mb ram worked better then one with 2G. anyway, the more the better. just don't try to use 2X dual channel (two pairs of dual channel memorys // 4 pieces of ram. if you still want to use so, the use it in single channel ..... with two dual channels, the speed will slow down a lot...)

doesnt really matter, its all to do with the cas timming/Latency
of the ram its hard to explain this in text
http://tomshardware.co.uk/2006/03/31/tight_timings_vs_high_clock_frequencies_uk/
this is a good example
