they have a candle kit that lets you melt old candles and make new one. its at walmart. or you can use a double pot.( not sure the real name) its the same kind you use for melting chocholate. candle wax goes on the top pot and water in the bottom pot.put heat to it and wait for the wax to melt and the pour the hot wax into your mold or new candle holder with a new wick.

I put the candle ends in an empty jar, the kind that scented candles come in. I prefer to use highly scented candle pieces. I place this jar in front of the oven vent on my gas stove and when I use my oven, the heat melts the wax and a nice aroma floats through the kitchen. Be careful as the jar does get hot. The one I'm using now has been on my stove for several months and still smells good. If you don't have a jar, a clean, empty can would do the same thing. I don't make candles so I don't know if this wax could be burned again.

I use an old coffee ( metal) to put the old candles in, then put that can into a three quart pan with an inch or two of water, put that over a medium to low flame and away you go!! I do bent the top of the can so it has a "spout" for easy pouring of the wax.

You need to use two pans, ! that is on the stove and 1 inside of that one where you put the candles so there is no chance of a fire.

you need what you call a double boiler, put water in 1 pan& heat, put the candlel in another & set in the pan with boiling water. the wax will melt. just make sure you use an old pan for the candles as it will stick some.
