2 different problems. your automatic pressure reducing valve is probably not working properly-failing to keep pressure on the boiler, (12-15 lbs.). If you have zone valves one may be causing short cycling of the burner due to incorrect setting. If you have circulaters and relays perhaps you have a bad thermostat also causing short cycling.

You have several possibilities. 1 The temperature limit switch is faulty so your recirculation pump doesn't start, and the burner hi limit shuts down. The recirculation pump is bad and won't run. Or if you have a water guage limit to tell that there's water present in the heat exchanger area is bad. Or possibly the water's to low in the supply resevoir.

in any hydronic heating, the pump and the heat create pressure. two things could be happening if your boiler shuts down quickly. your heat anticipator on you t-stat is pooched, your flow switch is sensing "no-flow" and might be in a safety shut down. If the latter of the two is your case, this could become a serious safety concern. call a plumbing & heating company to come and trouble shoot. Also, your heating system may have a warm weather shut down that may be faulty.
