Easy, just get elected to public office. The proud state of Illinois forbids the carrying of concealed weapons by common citizens, but allows public officials to do so as they are more important and thus should have the means to protect themselves. Rest of the common folk, not so much. As Illinois is the only state remaining with no provision for civilian carry it's only a matter of time. Of course that time would shorten tremendously if Chicago and all of Cook county happened to fall of the edge into Lake Michigan. Until that fine day I would not hold my breath. It's gonna happen, but the powers that be in Chitown and Springfield will fight it tooth and nail.
