I go to friend's houses, I stay home alone ect. I am over 10.... should I ask for 1??

Over 10? so like 11?5th/6th grade?- pretty young
I think it would be good for you to have a cell phone for security purposes, so your parents can know where you are. But I do think you are a bit young, where do grade-schoolers go that they can't ask to use someone else's phone in a house? I think you should discuss it with your parents, if anything, tell them it's more for your safety and security (which it should be) than because all the cool kids have them.
