You get burn marks off an iron if you put the iron on your skin. The best method is to heat it up then lie the iron on your face.

Baking soda & water...Mix just enough to make a paste, spread the paste on a cool iron and scrub with the scrubby side of a sponge.
Good Luck

Well first.. set the heat.. to right level.. spray the cloth with lil water so it reduces.. the heat of iron on its surface..
don't allow time to heat up.. keep.. a hard cloth.. slightly wet so.. every time you press.. move it through... the wet cloth to take the heat off.. this will turn down the marks..

Rub the bottom of the iron when warm with soap and rub onto a cloth, this should remove it, if not repeat the process until it does.

You get specific iron cleaning cloths/producs from your hardware shop. I would suggest not to use wire wool as it may damage the surface of your iron

there are products on the market that are available in the supermarket. If that does not work you will have to buy a new iron. They are not that expensive.
