This has been true throughout more than 30 years of marriage. He has a giant, larger than life poster of himself with pop singer Jewel, with his arm around her---taken when he bought a "back stage" pass--in his office, but has never displayed any pictures of me and our four children. (He even asked me to help him blow up the original photo into a poster since he doesn't have computer tech skills.) He has another picture of himself and Jewel on his laptop. He has other pictures of singers and actresses, and even some of himself with strippers (although he doesn't display the ones with strippers, at least.) He's rarely taken any pictures of me, doesn't carry any in his wallet...He doesn't put his arm around me. I'm not ugly, not fat. We have three attractive daughters, one of them considered extraordinarily beautiful, and a handsome son.

I have talked to him many times and told him I am hurt by this, but he says, "I don't need any pictures of you."

Sounds like he is immature and needs to grow up. He is probably looking for attention from his coworkers and feels he won't get it if he is living a normal ordinary life.. wife, kids, mortage

Why not make him some pics for his birthday and christmas of the family in a way that fits his way to display them and give for a gift and see what he does. I do not take or have pics of any kind except for those the wife has given me.

Sometimes I don't think get and understand that it hurts our feelings. I am sure he has some crush on her but as long as he doesn't obsess about her and think maybe someday. It is probably normal but guys just don't get it, testosterone should be known as the pig in them.

Not meaning to sound "flip" about this, but explain to him why he DOES need pictures of you.......so he'll remember what you looked like when you've LEFT him......Shame on him! He ought to be ashamed of not having your picture in his wallet, and on his wall......See if Jewel washes his dirty clothes, or cooks his food when you're gone.....enough IS enough! Good Luck!!

The problem with your husband is he is not a man, he is a boy. Don't expect him to grow up at this stage of the game. In fact as he gets older expect him to get worse. Obviously he is a very insecure person. He must need these pictures to try to boost himself up. Sadly when most people see these pictures they are likely thinking he is very immature and foolish. It is surprising that he has one in his office where respect counts. This has nothing to do with you. You could be the most beautiful woman in the world and he would still do the same things.

if you didn't have kids i'd say leave him, but since you do i say start putting up pics of guys you like. When he reacts tell him 'well now you know how it feels!"
