I am about to complete a business transaction in Great Britain and was referred to an attorney. I want to ensure that this attorney is reputable and qualified. I reside in the United States (Michigan).

Attorney's are called Solicitors or Barristers in the UK. If you're talking about a business transaction you are likely to be dealing with a Solicitor.

Solicitors have to be qualified and are registered with the Law Society. The link to the website is below, you will be able to check qualifications and whether any complaints have been made.against them.

It will be more difficult to check whether the Solicitor is reputable, that is a subjective judgement and the Law Society will only tell you whether they have broken the rules. Most large legal firms in the UK have websites though and many will be able to give you references if you call up and ask for some.
