Dude, it's soooooooo much easier to just go to a piercer or a jewelry store in the mall. It doesn't cost that much you can get one ear done for about $12-15. They have sterilized equipment and it only takes a second.
Piercing your own ear is very difficult not to mention dangerous. You would have to ice it a lot and be able to stab a needle through very hard and quickly. Plus, you would need to have a needle of the right size which you probably do not have at home. And since you do not have the proper equipment you could easily get it infected and it will hurt way more than if you went to a jeweler.
I can't tell you how many people I've seen try to pierce their own body only to have it get infected or cause them pain for weeks then they end up going to a piercer and getting it redone the right way.

Well, if you want to do it yourself..
1. Ice your ear to make it numb.
2. "burn" the tip of a needle with a lighter and rub alcohol on it to sterilize it.
3. Mark where you are going to peirce with a marker.
4. Remove the ice.
5. Put an apple slice behind your ear.
6. Put the needle through.
7. Remove needle and replace with an earring.
....make sure the earring is clean and keep it in for 4-6 weeks with out taking it out at all. After 4-6 weeks you can change the earring but make sure you have an earring of some sort in the hole for up to 6 months so it doesn't close up.
....If your ear shows signs of irritation, see a doctor right away.
....to prevent infection, clean your ear twice a day, everyday, with earring cleaner. You can buy it at ear piercing posts in the mall or Claire's.
For a visual how-to, watch the Parent Trap starring Linsay Lohan. =P
A more pracical solution, however, is to go to a professional. They usually do it for free, you just have to buy the earring. It's much safer and less painful.

Hi.
You can go to a jeweller's. It'a relatively cheap.
Or you can use a safety pin/stud to open a hole yourself. I did it with a safety pin and some willpower, but this isn't a good idea if your pain threshold is low, plus it's actually quite difficult to push it all the way through (it requires some strength). Perhaps sterilising it first will help to prevent infection, maybe take some painkillers and numb the area with ice.
You will need saline solution or antiseptic to cleanse the hole. Then, you have to put a stud/ring in STRAIGHT AWAY and keep it moving, or the hole will scab and go gooey (not what you want). If you leave your earrings out, the hole will close up and may leave a lump, which you cannot pierce (or you'll end up with a lovely burst abcess).
Hope this helps!

I pierced my third hole like this.
Made a dot where I wanted it
Got a pin needle and boiled it, then wiped with peroxide or alcohol (cant remember)
Numbed my ear w/ an ice cube for about 10 minutes
Shoved the pin through my ear (it took about 30 minutes to get it all through) I went slow. This is the "ghetto" way of doing it, I would just see if your parents would take you to get it pierced, or wait till your 18. You could also get a fake earring, like magnetic or something...Good Luck!!

U can go to your local mall and in the hall of the mall is usually piercing, jewerly etc. Also, u can go to your regular M.D. and they do it there. Last resort (Woodstock Gal) is put a white potato behind your ear, mark the spot with a dot., and then push thru until needle goes into the potato and pull out, the potato juice, keeps u from infection and it works and doesn't hurt, just a fast sharp sting, then insert earring.

First you need to find yourself either a gold or silver stud or ring. Sterilise it in a salt water solution. Cleanse your ear with the salt water solution. Next, use ice wrapped in a cloth to numb the area of your ear that you want to pierce. You will need to hold it next to the ear for several minutes, until it feels number. Next pierce your ear with the stud/ring. It should not hurt too much, but may feel sore. You should feel it pop through the other side. When you have secured it, gently cleanse your ear with salt water solution and do this on a regular basis for the next few weeks. You also need to twist the stud/ring on a regular basis and remove any crusting. Good luck! HTH : )

The best thing is to go to an appropriate ear pierciners but if you did do it yourself or got someone else to do it then you are risking it regarding infection. I knew someone who did do it themselves and they used a sterile needle (after boiling it in salt water) then froze the ear using a frozen bag of peas then after a few whiskeys they pierced the ear and thankfully it worked although its not the best thing to do lol.

Don't do it yourself. You might infect it. Go to a Proffessional at a Tattoo and Piercing Place or have someone who knows how to do it for you. Because you need a cream to put on your ear everyday for a couple of weeks and you can't take your stub out for a while.

Jewelery stores usually do it for free. Some jewelery stores that have promotions going on, will do it for free. Just phone some of them and ask when there next free ear piercing is being done.

You can either go to a piercing salon or you can stick a needle through your ear. The salon is less painful but the needle is much cheaper.
