The West Indies got a great chance on home soil. They are a fighting team that have been improving and have shown so by beating some of the top teams. They are slowly climbing the rankings and got some very talented young players like Chris Gayle, Sarwan, Morton, Bravo, Smith, Taylor etc not forgetting the veterans like Lara and Chanderpaul. The West Indies will be in the World Cup 2007 Finals and they will be the team to beat on home soil. They proved that in the last tour when India toured the West Indies earlier this year. Watch them closely....

Since cricket is a game of uncertainties, nothing can be predicted for surfe about the outcome of a tournament in advance. If you take the case of Champions Trophy 2006, nobody would have trhought at the start of the tournament that West Indies will come to the final. Remember, they had to pass through the qualifying level first.

As far as World Cup 2007 is concerned it is couple of months away. Not even the players of each team is known. Who know what will be form of the players and each team when the World Cup starts.

In viedw of the above, it is not at all possible for any one to predict certainly as to who will win the World Cup 2007. It will be anybody's game and will fully depend on the performance of the players on the given day. To be fair, all the top 8 teams have a chance to win the World Cup at this stage.

The Windies have shown in the last two Champions Trophy tournaments that they have the capability to beat anyone. In Chris Gayle they have arguably the worlds best ODI all-rounder and with Sarwan, Chanderpaul and Lara they have other world class batsmen. Their bowling also looks promising with youngsters like Bradshaw coming on well.

The Windies problems in the past have been in no small measure due to their less than competent administrators. But things do now seem better with the great Clive Lloyd being involved. The Windies other problem is consistency. They can play like giants one day, and pygmies the next. Brian Lara is perhaps a bit to blame here because even he has too many off days both as batsman and captain. Tomorrow (the final v Australia) may be the key. If they win (or come close) the Windies might well move on to even greater things. But you never know - and that is part of their charm. YES the Windies have a great Chance in the 2007 World Cup - but don't bet your house on it!

The homa advantage is significant in every sport, even the Olympics. I think the home crowds, plus the momentum they have been building (even though they lost yesterday) will stand the Widines in very good stead to at least make the semis. From there, anything can happen.
I would suggest they will be joined by Australia, South Africa, & Sri Lanka. I would have said Pakistan before their drugs banned bowlers got excluded, and forget India, poor bowling and inconsistant batting, plus getting hammered in the ODI series in the Windies recently put them out of it.

I think we have a chance on home soil. Look at Germany in the World cup.....We heard that they had no chance, yet they raised their game and got to the semis!

Because it is their home soil, they have a chance of winning a top three position (while Australia is more or less assured a further top two position). All those nations who were not in the top eight last time, I fear, will have little chance again this time.

They have home advantage,
They will have maximum supporters in the stands to egg them on.Playing in home conditions is a bonus.
They have shown good form of late.

But ,where they are playing does'nt matter for reigning world
champions Australia. They are good at beating WI in WI itself.
So , going by recent performances and form Australia and West Indies will be the teams to look out for.
Of course still the tournament is very much open, for others too..

best regards,

They have a very good chance but they need to find a way to include Chris Gayle and Omari Banks in the same team.
That would make them truly explosive. Also, Jermain Taylor and Fidel Edwards both have to play. They need to bowl with pure pace.

I think they stand more than a chance and the way they r playing now we see a difference in their game they dont just throw in the towel and accept defeat anymore but they actually fight back.Australia will be a team 2 beat but they have done it and they can do it again. Then there is South Africa and India but like i said they r now stepping up in their game so anything can happen and like how they r my boys i am carrying them all the way

ya i think so, infact i think west indies have a chance of winning any tournament in any part of the world because there have some quality palyers and a very long tail as it were, and there are also some excellent emerging all-rounders in their ranks who can turn trhe game around in an instant like dwayne bravo.
