The Venus fly trap is located on the coastal region of North Carolina, I know of for sure. Most specifically around the Wilmington and Fayetteville areas.

I bought them several times @ Wal*Mart. On the containers they say that they are grown from cultures so they do not deplete the natural habitat in the South American rain forests. So, I'd try South America or Wal*Mart =-)
