Why are "MOST" notice the term most, not conservative with there own lifestyles and ideas "MORE FOR ME" seems to be there antheim. While the rest of the conservative followers hold the "ism" strong at heart fight for what they believe and ignore the hipocracy. I.E. BIG business and elite religous organizers. Nothing wrong with getting ahead "MORE FOR ME" but don't be hipocritical with the rhetoric.

Mud slinging at individuals is where I have decided to draw the line. The systems doesn't count.

This from a Democrat:

It wasn't that long ago that the Republican Party was pro-business and for a strong national defense but also for civil rights and protecting our environment.

Newt Gingrich was the evil political chemist who threw that out the window and melded the wealthiest Americans with the most socially conservative people in our society. His strange cocktail gave birth and power to the likes of Tom DeLay, James Dobson , Exxon and Halliburton.

Obviously the wealthiest Americans like the Walton family are greedy. I promise you that the far right's religious leaders are as well.

When are the little people going to understand that they're being gamed? Jesus has nothing to do with this.

Substitute any other group for conservatives and see how your "question" looks.

Go ahead, be un-PC. Substitute Blacks. Hispanics. Christians. Democrats.

Whoever. You have simply described the human condition, so stop being hipocritical with your rhetoric.

Conservative is a moral stance, not an economic theory.

Conservatives believe in Judeao-Christian morality. A common misbelief is that this morality dicates poverty. It dictates giving to the poor. Giving to the extent that your lifestyle is changed. However if you make a ton of money (20 million a year) giving 5 million to charity does change your standard of living, but still makes you part of the upper 1% of America.

If I keep more of my money, then I am conserving it. Of course, if I own a SUV, then I am not conserving gasoline.

If I am environmentalist, then I am for conserving nature. But, I might be for higher taxes to serve more people.

There are contradictions in every philosophy.

I found the same with liberals. They all say help the poor yet the people who volunteer with me at the shelter are all republicans. Libs support aid to Africa yet can not even name the capitol city of Sudan. They want low cost health insurance yet want the right to file frivolous lawsuits.... etc etc etc

They are just materialistic. They lack insight and a sense of irony. Why are they so uncritical of their leaders? Beats me, perhaps they are in denial.
