The movie that made me want to read the book was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Great movie, better book!

The Exorcist (amazing book), The Hours, The Color Purple, High Fidelity (WAY better than the movie), What's Love Got to Do With It (based on "I, Tina"-- what a read!), Mommie Dearest, The Bad Seed, Lolita (great films, unbelievable book).
Congrats on opening a store! Way to go!

Uhh...I think it's called Divine Secrets of the Yaya Sisterhood. Something like that anyway. The book's a lot better, the movie jumps around too much at first & it takes a while before you figure out who's who & whether it's happening in the present or past.

I would have to go with The Exorcist because I have been told the book is creepier than the actual movie, and the movie did scare me a bit.

Mystic River... book ended up being better than the movie, which I thought would be nearly impossible.
And any Elmore Leonard movie makes me want to read the book.
