The camera does not work. When the lens cover is opened to take a picture, the screen displays the message "open lens cover". In all other ways the phone is fine, and wasn't dropped or anything. Any ideas how to fix this please?

Hi I have the D750i which is similar (if not the same phone). Try accessing the camera through the menu first and then opening the lens cover, if you've been doing it this way then try opening the lens cover when the phone is locked and see what happens- if neither method works then there is a fault with your phone as the camera doesn't require any other set up.

If you have a contract phone contact your network and tell them you phone needs repairing, they should take care of this for free. If you are on pay-as-you-go take it to reputable phone store and see if there is anything they can do.

Hi, if I was in your position the first thing to do is re-read the manual, you may have missed something about setting up the camera, if all OK then take it to your local mobile shop and ask them to check it out, if this is where you bought it all the better, if they confirm the camera or phone is faulty then contact the supplier/network operator where you purchased the phone from and request it be repaired or replaced under warranty, provided it is under 12 months old, or, if applicable, and out-with warranty, contact your insurer for the phone

Don't panic, it's not your fault! The only reason you'd need to read the manual is to find contact details so you can send your phone away for repair because its seriously FUBAR.

A word of warning though. I have a K750i and after about a year-ish the lil joystick will start being really tempermental, working one minute then not at all for ages...just a word to the wise :)

Hope to have been of help.

are you sure, go get your phone checked by an authorised dealer in sony ericsson phones and if there's a sony ericsson store or center in your vicinity, go there (preferably).
