Will Democrats clean my lake?

If you have watched the changes the Bush administration has made to environmental laws over the last 6 years, and the systematic removal from oversight and regulating bodies like the EPA of anyone who disputed those changes, then you are aware that laws which require cleaner standards have been badly weakened or rescinded during Bush's term in office.

Since the changes were made to laws governing industry, yes, these policy changes have increased pollution.

I don't know about your lake. But the Democrats are, across the board, far more concerned than your typical Republican about the effects of pollution, global warming being one of the more pressing issues.

If you start contacting your state representatives, making your concerns about your lake well-known to those who can do something about it, then you may well see a cleanup occur. If they're Democrats, that is.

No.

Politicians are not to blame for pollution....Republican or Democrat, although they would each like for you to believe that the other is responsible.

We as a society are responsible for pollution. We buy the products the factories make (which cause pollution). We buy and drive the high emission vehicles. We throw litter on the ground. We use disposable diapers that fill miles of landfills. Politicians may regulate the laws and such, but we ultimately have the choice and responsibility not to pollute.

Not all Republicans. Bush, however, reversed a slew of environmental legislation for his polluting buddies. So he is directly at fault. Democrats are no angels, however, and they will clean your lake if that is what the constituents desire, but you gotta speak up.

The Democrats will set up a new bureaucracy. They will have weekly meetings to discuss your problem.

A semi-annual review will show how many millions need to be spent on an inspection.

The annual review will discuss how many contractors are disqualified from bidding because of their ties to government officials.

Two years later, your lake is still polluted and tax-payers have spent $50 million.

Not if you live in Florida. The Democrats gave big sugar a free ride after it came out they were spilling toxic waste in the glades. Big sugar donated $2 M to the DNC in return the Democrats voted to have the tax payers picked up the $200 million clean up tab.

To give credit where it is due, Bush is the greenest president in history. (believe me it hurt to admit that)

No, Republicans are not responsible for increased pollution, and Democrats aren't going to clean anything unless there's money and votes hidden at the bottom.

yes, because they put corporate profits ahead of everything else.
they will change when green types start donating more money than the polluters.all the environmental do-gooders should just buy the congress. they are really very cheap. paul newman could probably do it alone.
