Those who put down gay people are most likely not gay themselves...They are most likely offended by the gayness of the object of their put downs. Too many gay individuals want to share their lifestyle with those who would rather play in traffic. It is my advice that gay-dar be standard issue for everyone. Accurate Gay-Dar. I believe some are. They're scared at the prospect that they may be something that they've been raised to feel is bad, so they lash out against it. The majority, however, are probably just those who fall into one of two categories 1) Religious and feel it's against their beliefs or 2) Just think that the concept of two people of the same gender together is strange and immoral to society.

no. not all, some but definitely not all. many straight people are just scared of different people. and the easiest way to cope with it is to make fun and treat them as outcasts. ignorance is the real reason. and sometimes hate.

No, they are just against it. If you put down terrorists, does that mean that deep down you are actually a terrorist and are afraid of it?
