Former Ohio State Coaching legend Woody Hayes was the coach that was fired after hitting a player but that was not the reason he got fired it was just the "straw that broke the camels back" Coach had been under scrutiny for other incidents he was involved in.

It was Woody Hayes. He hit a Clemson Tiger linebacker after the player intercepted a pass to seal a victory over the Buckeyes in the 1979 Gator Bowl. I was at that game. That was awesome. The man just went postal.

Woody Hayes. I have no ties to Big Ten football (SEC Fan) but I have pulled for Michigan every year to beat Ohio State so they can possibly keep the Buckeyes from winning the Big Ten Championship. Go Big Blue !!!
