Why are they so negtive?

It seen like every canadate has nothing good to say, but negtive stuff about the other guy? Only hear about how bad this, or that
whats wrong ?

This is because it's actually kind of difficult to come up with a good idea and stand behind it. At least it's too difficult for politicians. They choose the safer and easier route of attacking the other guy when they should be trying to show that they have the intelligence and maturity to hold public office. It's a shame too, because picking the lesser of the evils is slowly killing this country.

Because - ignoring the fact that our politicians are ALL greedy, power-hungry swine, and that far too large a percentage are criminals or traitors who should be in prison – they are all idiots who, even if they cared about America and Americans (which they don’t), do not know what they are doing.

The Repubs are right about one thing, the Dems do not have a plan – for anything. The bad news for America is that by having no plan, the Dems are better for the country because, although the Repubs have plans – they are all insanely stupid, wrong, un-American, and complete failures.

We are less safe and have less freedom and liberty than when the Repubs gained total control of the government – or, even last year because Bush keeps making it worse every day he remains in office. Iraq, as well as Afghanistan, is a complete loss and we are badly losing a grip on the war on terror.

Third-world Bozo leaders punk us and our President to our faces and we cannot do a d*mn thing about it because we have no credibility in the world. We have lost friends and made enemies. We have lost our power and influence on world events (except to make things worse).

They religious and political right are eroding our Constitution (and, hence, government) and destroying our country. We would have been better served by a government that was totally gridlocked. At least when they do nothing, they do not hurt us and harm our country.

Really ask yourself, though, how many people can listen to analysis and for how long. Everybody is concerned over a hand full of issues that apply to them, but when a speech writer or a commercial producer covers that topic, they know that they have about ten words to do it in, and anything else is going to be too long-winded, and will be ignored, because nobody has a long enough attention span. They advertise themselves to us the fastest way that there possibly is to advertise in a few seconds, instead of racking their brains to come up with a more effective way, by calling their opposition the worst things that they can in a thirty-second spot.

My husband is working for a local candidate in our state. The winner of this race will determine whether or not we continue to have property taxes. That's a big issue! Yet the only advertisements we've seen so far are "trust me" or "don't trust him". It makes you wonder whether anybody knows anything that's at stake.

Because not only does it work, it is extremely lucrative for many of the high-priced consultants, who jump from campaign to campaign with massive opposition research methods ready to take down any candidate that stands in their way. If an unpopular candidate can succeed in driving up the negatives of his opponent (by negative TV ads/direct mail), he/she usually wins.

It shows you how corrupt they are, that they have to lie and cheat to get elected. Rove is the best weapon the republicans have. He gets paid to spread lies. Vote issues not party. If you are pleased with the war, border security, health care, and moral character of the administration, vote republican. If not vote for a change. Each change will come in your own district. Keep voting the same, keep getting the same results.

It proves what all politicians think about the American electorate ... they don't seem to think that the American voter understands policy issues, but are only interested in scandal, gossip and sound bytes ... in other words, the politicians of both parties seem to think that Americans by and large are stupid, ill educated and unable to make decisions based on policy ... sad, isn't it, that our elected representatives of both persuasions think it's OK to win by stooping so low ...

My Mother taught me, If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Obviously, Truth and Dignity do not exist in their public utterances, so how can any self-respecting citizen of good conscience abbrogate any of our authority unto those who merely profess to coincidentally share some opinions, and fail to serve the representational 'democracy' so blatantly betrayed? We are seeing immature, greedy, self-serving sociopaths seeking office and power, not citizen statesmen seeking to save all those lives doomed to the terrorism of imposed police state. Nay, they want to be part of the ruling class, not part of classic rule of self-government. These are the lazy schoolyard cheats now seeking to become the bullies. They will steal your lunch if you let them. The negativity is a reflection of our inapproriate tolerance- our permissiveness and lack of focus on matters grave and treasonous, and our failing to condemn them with our power- our right to call it treason! No incumbent left behind!

Some people feel that belittling a person makes them feel like a better person, when actually it's just the opposite. They're actually kinda pitiful!!
