Do whatever is most comfortable for you. When I was younger I always slept with a bra on. Now that I am a little older I usually don't wear one to bed. Wearing a bra to bed is actually probably better for you in the since that women wear bras to for support and to shape their breasts. If you are still developing and your breasts are still growing it is especially good that you wear a bra to bed. Some bras can be uncomfortable period. You will find that sports bras are the most comfortable to wear and to sleep in. They give you the best support possible. If you look at other cultures where women don't wear bras, you can see what a difference that they make. You can refer to National Geographic on those other cultures. Certain tribes are most known for women not wearing bras.

No I don't think so. I wear a sport bra to bed. Wearing a regular bra is uncomfortable for me. Whatever is comfortable shouldn't bring any harm and anything of that nature.

RE:
Is it okay to wear a bra to bed?
I find it rather uncomfortable to sleep without a bra. I've been told that you're not supposed to sleep with one on. Is there really any harm in doing so? I wouldn't think that there is. Any women out there agree or have official info on the subject?

This is a good question, I never really thought about it before. I sleep in one all the time, underwire at that (underwire is all I own). The sports bra is a good idea, I should try that. The only reason I wear one to bed is because I sleep at weird hours and have no privacy in my house. Sleeping with one on has never caused me pain luckily. I've been doing it for at least 3 years and havn't noticed any effects on myself.

Usually it is girls in puberty who start wearing a bra to bed. Usually this is for two reasons. One, the excitement of "finally" being able to wear a bra, to be on the road to womanhood, is just so thrilling that they don't want it to end. They want to go to sleep and wake up with the bra on, a visible sign of maturity.
Second, teenagers are generally very embarassed about the things their bodies are doing. They don't want people to see these new, strange shapes! So they wear a bra 24x7 so that no matter WHAT happens (fire, sudden tornado, etc) they are safe and protected.
Either way, hopefully the desire to wear a bra when sleeping will be short lived and they will return to the normal practice of sleeping without any binding of the breasts. Breasts are normal body parts and need to have at least some portion of time unconstricted and free to bend and stretch. Nighttime is the body's chance to heal and recuperate from the stresses of the day. It's very important for the breasts to be loose as well, to be able to get a 'normal' blood flow into them. There is little chance of them stretching and becoming misshapen at night - they are being supported by the bed in most sleeping positions. The great advantages of free blood flow vastly outweigh the concerns of sudden fires or other issues.
If you or someone you know is hooked on sleeping with a bra, it's time to break that habit, for the sake of your breasts.

Yes it's okay to wear a bra to bed but preferably one without underwire because they migh make you uncomfortable. Some people say that wearing one helps the breast not sag but it hasn't been conclusive...if it doesn't hurt, then there's no problem with wearing one.

If you must sleep with a bra on, bet a sleep or lesiure bra. They offer a little support without being to restrictive. Also, they are normally all cotton so they are very comfortable. Another choice, and something that I do, is sleep with a second pillow. I sleep on my side, and hug it close to my body so my 'upper' breast is resting on the pillow and the lower one is supported by the mattress. I toss and turn a lot during the night, but I've learned to carry my pillow with me I do.

I have never heard of any harm from sleeping in a bra. My mother and grandmother always told me that we were all supposed to sleep in bras to keep from sagging, although I doubt that either of them ever did, nor did any of the aunts. Sleeping in a bra is darned uncomfortable.
