The 1500 will be a combo of child surport and temp alimony!..ONLY intil the kid is 18.!. she said no deal and i said ok then we will let the judge handle it if you want to be so unfair...She said because we are married over 15 yrs(i used 15 as a place to start not to giveaway my I.D.) she should get permint alimony...what do you think??

I do not think anyone who is getting a divorce should get alimony at all. Consequence of divorce....people should not get money because they failed at their marriage! Alimony, its like a reward for getting divorced. If people knew they would not get any alimony in a divorce they may try harder at the relationship.

Sounds like a fair deal to me. Also sounds like she is Greedy and wants to stick it to ya. May she burn in hell for her greedy sin.

I am also going through almost the exact same thing except I am the woman and neither are disabled. My kid is 12 1/2 and am asking for child and spousal support along with me keeping the house. Depends what state you live in, where I live there is a standard child support formula the courts use and though he makes 6-1 more income than me it still doesn't matter. Spousal support in all states is considered a temporary means of income until the spouse can learn a trade or got to school to better their income potential. I am asking for both until the age of 18 yrs and that is considered a long time. Unfortunately even with that money and my income I still won't be able to afford my house and the up keep. I live in a community property state and everything is 50/50 but my ex is the one that wants out and I expect him to be willing to take less than 50%. You are better off going to see the judge because she will not get want she thinks and if her income is a decent amount being a business owner it is likely she will be awarded maintenance support from anywhere between 1 yr- 3 yrs. You can also but in the clause if she has a live in boyfriend or remarries it is stopped permanently. Good luck

I think you'll be better off with the judges decision anyway, with one kid I dont think you have much to worry about about when it comes to child support and why would she be awarded permanent alimony? But...lets make sure the childs needs are met at this difficult time.

I think you have been very generous in your offer. However, I don't like the terminology you use regarding your child. You keep referring to she, or he as KID. Don't you have any feeling for your child? If I did have feeling for my child I would do everything I could to make sure she, or he could have the most normal life growing up, as possible.

i think you should let the judge decide. it's possible because she owns her own business she won't get anything except child support
